Goals to achieve
The primary goal of the project is to verify the use of saffron (cultivars with the best performance in the Etna) in its bioactive molecules for cosmetic and nutraceutical applications, currently recovering the biomass waste and decreasing the costs of plant .
The direct repercussions include: the improvement of the economic performance of saffron cultivation, the creation of product and process conditions (new business model) for a new supply chain aimed at new markets for a traditionally food and gastronomic product.
